Two Vegan Boys Weblog

A journey of cooking vegan food for my family.

Goodbye weekend…….

It is Sunday evening and the weekend has flown by quickly.  Yesterday I made cupcakes for a engagement party and for a birthday party.  The engagement cupcakes strawberry cuppies with a simple green icing.  The birthday cupcakes were flowers and butterflies.  Between Friday and Saturday I made 144 cuppies.  That is not a typo.  So needless to say, I do not want to see, taste, or make any cupcakes for a while.

Lavender flower cuppies.

Pink flower cuppies.

Butterfly and snail cupcakes for my two little guys. Arthur loves snails.  He told us the snail and moth are his favorite bugs.

I love how much he likes the snail cupcake.

This is what Adam thinks when someone tries to take a cupcake away from him.

Friday night I cooked a simple meal since I was busy baking.  We had ziti pasta with a homemade cilantro pesto.  A lovely side salad using veggies from our garden and CSA.

Salad thanks to the CSA and our garden.

We share a CSA with a friend and this was our share this week.  Such goodness.  In our box:   redleaf lettuce, leaf lettuce, onions, carrots, broccoli, fennel, beets, dill, & purple kale.

Speaking of vegetables.  Look at the lovely broccoli we harvested from the garden yesterday.  It will be eaten this week.  Yay!

Well I am off to cook some dinner for my family and enjoy the few hours left of the weekend.

See you tomorrow.

peas and love….

  1. You have been one busy beaver and I can understand your thoughts on not wanting to bake anymore. Love the cutie pies eating their sweets and your veggies are so nice. Keep up the good work.

  2. What gorgeous (and tall!) veggies in your CSA this week!

That’s a whole lot of cupcakes! You did the best job decorating them 🙂

  4. Great cupcakes! The weekend just goes by too quickly…

  5. Beautiful cupcakes! And lovely produce! I got my CSA bag last week, it’s so nice to know there is something in the fridge I can whip up!

i love your site. BUT I get too hungry looking at the yummy cuppies. I am a very fat (almost) vegan, But a true vegetarian. I want the cup-cakes too.

  7. Each of these debates within the debate can modify the outcome. If having gay parents is better than being in an orphanage but not as good as having straight parents, maybe gays should be allowed to adopt only kids who are wards of the state, as is done in New Jersey. If having a mom and dad is better than having two moms only when all other considerations are equal, maybe sexual orientation should be a factor, though not a conclusive one, in the adoption screening process. If gay adoptions should be banned because kids of gays have the same problems as kids of divorced people, maybe a divorcees new husband shouldnt have any more parental rights over her child than a new lesbian partner would.
