Two Vegan Boys Weblog

A journey of cooking vegan food for my family.

About

Greetings from the land of cattle.  Hi, my name is Krys. I am a vegan mum living in the South with two sons. I love to cook vegan food and experiment with new recipes. I have a wonderful husband and our two rescued Pitbulls, Zeke and Maggie.

This blog is about food, gardening, and my family.  I cook all of our meals.  We eat from our garden and shop at the farmers market to support our local farm.  We eat all vegan, all the time.  I strive to feed my two young boys well, balanced, healthy meals.  We love to garden and try to grow and eat veggies from our garden year round.   We very rarely go out to dinner.  I hope you enjoy the blog and feel free to comment.

  1. Hi Krys,
Can you email me. I know you make your own cloth diapers and I was wondering where you buy your PUL fabric? Thanks, Alicia

You are awesome! I have a daughter (born 2/2008) and a lot of my supposed friends have insisted on proclaiming their negative opinions about my raising her vegan. I have been gradually amassing a collection of examples of other vegan parents, to prove them all wrong!

  3. Hi Krys,

I work at Tofurky and we would love to send you some fun stuff to say thanks for mentioning us in your blog.

  4. Hi there!

How fun to meet another Texan blogger 🙂

I look forward to following your blog and try out your recipes 🙂

  5. I just found your blog thru the The Rockin’ Vegan, it looks great! It’s amazing at how many vegans there are out there in Texas. I think that is so wonderful!

Vegan in Texas is like flowers growing in the middle of the sidewalk!
We almost always cook at home because there are so few options to go out to eat safely! As an adult I can adjust well enough, but with two 8 year olds…. that is another story. Any places you suggest?

  7. Hi Krys!

My name is Nathalie VanBalen, and I’m writing because I think your blog is great and I thought you might be interested in a current project of mine. I recently published a children’s book called “Garlic-Onion-Beet-Spinach-Mango-Carrot-Grapefruit Juice,” which raises questions about eating animals. It’s silly, smart, and fresh- a great book for vegan kids!

If you’re interested, please check out my site and let me know what you think! http://www.thorathinks.com/

    Thanks so much!
    All the best,

    Nathalie

p.s. Your children are adorable! 🙂

  9. This is not an add. I just want everyone to know about your site!

My new website http://www.vegam-moms.com is a place for all things wonderful for the body and the Earth. Currently I feel that vegan and vegetarianism is all spread out!

It is my goal to create a simple and single place for blogs, website, products, books etc. that are geared towards sustaining and helping the vegan and vegetarian lifestyle.

I would be honored if my current & future subscribers could get to know you and your work.

I hope you can take a moment and look at the site. Advertise your site and your self!!!

    Membership is free.

I just want a common place for all things vegan and veg!

And no, it is not just for moms…I just liked the name.

    Thank you,
    Meredyth O. Willits

  10. Hi Krys,
Absolutely love your blog! So many great ideas. I’ve just started a blog on the same theme – raising a vegetarian (vegan) family (www.howtoeatplants.com). I’ve added a link to your blog, you are such a great resource! There’s more and more of us veg families lately, it’s very exciting!
And now I’m off to continue looking through your archives…

  18. Hey there Krys! I just stumbled upon your blog and I love it! I think it’s wonderful that you’re raising your boys vegan. So much healthier than I was raised. Both my parents worked, so we lived mostly off frozen food while I was growing up. Because of the way I was raised, not only did I not know how to eat healthy, but I didn’t know how to cook. That’s changed over the past year and a half. My husband and I are now vegan and I’ve been working hard to teach myself how to cook healthy meals. I look forward to reading more of your posts! Celeste 🙂

  19. Its like you read my thoughts! You appear to understand so much approximately
this, like you wrote the e book in it or something.
I think that you just can do with a few p.
    c. to force the message home a little bit, but instead of that, that is fantastic blog.
An excellent read. I’ll certainly be back.
